Design registration

Why should you register a design?

With a design registration you will protect the appearance of your product, draft, design or logo  against any illicit use by third parties. More importantly, you also register what is yours. This  way, your design and the reputation that comes with it is protected.

In legal terms, a design (3D) or drawing (2D) is a new and original creation. To give an example:  we protect all new taps from our client Quooker ® with a design registration. Other examples of  possible designs are: outdoor furniture, clothing designs, bags, lamps, packaging and logos. 

We will be happy to provide you with advice on design registration. We will also remind you  when your design registration is to be renewed. A design registration is valid for 5 years and can  be renewed up to 4 times, 5 years each time. Therefore, a design registration has a maximum  validity of 25 years. If someone steals your design, our legal counselors can give you advice  about the possible actions to take and assist you in case you decide to take action.  

Your original design deserves legal protection in the official registers.
